Here is my first, certainly not last, Bewitching Pixie!
She stitched up quickly, lots of black & blue. As I stitched all that black, it occurred to me that I didn't want to stitch her hair, flat black, as charted. I had recently joined Stitchwhats on Cross Stitch It's Fun (FB group) and Harry Potter was on my mind. Her blue outfit and tall willowy stature reminded me of Fleur Delacour. All I needed to do was convert the hair to icy blonde and the transformation would be complete. So I did.
The fabric is beautiful, a mottled grey with subtle blue & pink undertones. The color is exactly what I wanted. I bought the fabric for its color and forgot I don't exactly enjoy stitching on 32 count lugana. The weave seems too tight, I prefer belfast or jobelan. Anyway, I stitched her on a fat quarter, mounted horizontally, and I have plans for the other half of the fabric... to be revealed in due time.
The beading was completed in one evening, about 2.5 hours of work. All the beads (except the extra large ones in the broom) are petites and they fit splendidly on the 32 count fabric. As for the large beads, I attached those with a full cross so they sit straight on the fabric. Most of the beads are charted in repeating color patterns, so I didn't need to reference the chart too much.
Gigi is my 15th finish of 2016! I can hardly believe it. Up next, 3 more finishes, hopefully!
Gorgeous!
